Vegan Cuts October Beauty Box Review

November 10, 2015 //  by Di Hickman//  42 Comments

The day before I left for Hawaii my Vegan Cuts October Beauty Box landed on my doorstep and I decided to leave it unopened so I’d have something to come home to. I love getting these beauty boxes, it’s like  cruelty free birthday surprise every month. This is my fifth box and it’s another hit! So far I’ve only gotten ONE item in the five months that I didn’t use. That’s not a bad average huh? So let’s unveil the goodies in this month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. Disclosure: It’s always my policy to make you aware: links contained in this post may be affiliate links, meaning I earn a small commision from sales through those links… or they could just be links to other posts of mine so I can trick you into staying here longer 🙂

Vegan Cuts October Beauty Box Review

If you’re not sure how the subscription service works, for $19.95 each month, Vegan Cuts scours the lands and sends 4-7 vegan, 100% cruelty free, paraben-free, mostly organic and natural products, right to your doorstep. With free shipping in the USA! Each month you get 4-7 items, with a mixture of sample and full size products. There were a total of six items in the Vegan Cuts October Beauty Box.

vegan cuts oct beauty box 2015 jersey shore cosmetics highlighter

First up was one of the products included in the monthly sneak peek!!! A gold highlighter from Jersey Shore Cosmetics. Illuminate you skin with real gold flakes!!! I like it. This one for me was a little “out the box” but this is gonna be PERFECT for the upcoming holiday party season. The girls at Vegan Cuts really think ahead, and they definitely gave me something I wouldn’t normally buy but am so glad I have in my beauty arsenal now. Oh heck you know you’re addicted when you have a bulging beauty bag! This highlighter has a $15 value – BOOM!

vegan cuts oct beauty box 2015 le beurre shop shea butter

This is the product for me that will get used first, and quickly – Le Beurre Shop Shea Butter Vanilla Body Cream. As I take a LOT of showers I use a LOT of body lotion, cream and oils. Plus I have dry skin anyway. And now we’re heading into winter. Oh boy! I love Shea Butter, I love Vanilla, I love animals, so this is a HUGE win for me. It’s super thick, but absorbed with and hydrated my skin. All while smelling great! Also $7.50 value… oh yeah we are at $22.50 already with 4 more products to go! It’s  bumper month!

vegan cuts oct beauty box 2015 luxie beauty brush

The third product was this Luxie Beauty Angled make-up brush which was also part of the monthly sneak peek! I know right! This brush alone is $12 and hey no animal hair. If you are looking for cruelty-free vegan products remember that most brushes are still made with real animal hair. Ew! I admit that some of my brushes are old, like really old, and I don’t wash them as often as I should. In fact most of the time I just use my fingers. Oh boy, did I just admit that? Anyway, moving on. Now I have a new cruelty-free makeup brush to use!

vegan cuts oct beauty box 2015 october fields lipbalm

Initially I saw lip balm and thought “urgh cop out” as I already have lip balms, from last winter that really need throwing out oh boy… but then realized they were full of parabens. No thanks. I remembered THIS was the reason I signed up for Vegan Cuts, cruelty free, vegan and no artificial crap on my face/body. And then fall decided to finally happen in Southern California, the temperature dropped, big time, and the winds picked up and whaddya know I need a lip balm because I’m drying out here!!! I swear those gals at Vegan Cuts must be psychic or something. This October Fields Original Lip Balm is paraben free, handmade, vegan, cruelty free and Peta certified! Honestly it’s great, same feel as regular lip balms, one BIG difference I noted was there was no ‘gunking’ or ‘clumping’. Just smooth moisturizing lip balm. $3.50 value.

vegan cuts oct beauty box 2015 the arie; co hair mask

Sometimes I feel like the gals at Vegan Cuts are in my head. Not only are these products geared towards dry skin, due to seasonal changes, but this one was just for me I’m sure!!! The Ariel Co. Hair Mask a “natural and organic hair mask to enhance your alluring mermaid locks”. Well I don’t know about mermaid locks, but I know that the sun, sand and surf from Hawaii combined with the fall weather we’re having now have dried my hair out BIGTIME! I haven’t used this… yet, due to time constraints, but I will be trying it SOON! Leave on for 30 minutes, rinse, then shampoo and condition as normal.  $17 value, yes please!

vegan cuts oct beauty box 2015 tre moringa peppermint body oil

Final product in the October box was a sample of True Moringa Peppermint body oil that hydrates skin from the inside out. This ethically sourced product is perfect for me, as I said my skin is drying out like crazy! Nice little sample size, enough to pop in my gym bag and use after my post-workout shower!

So total value for the Vegan Cuts October Beauty Box …. drum roll… a whopping $53!!! All for just $19.95! Say what!!! Now if you’re curious about trying Vegan Cuts for November, good news, the sneak peek has been revealed and with just two products revealed so far [a Liquid Eyeliner and Botanical Facial Steam] it’s already valued at $35! You cannot lose, go sign up today! Plus the box is a perfect Holiday Gift idea, #justsaying.

Seriously I cannot wait to try that eyeliner, and botanical facial steam. I love home spa treatments!!! If you’re still not sure though there is a nice little kit available called the Vegan Cuts Winter Beauty Essentials kit. Valued at $150 and priced at $27.95 this kit has 15+ cruelty free beauty products! Seriously if you’re reading this and want to buy a girl you know, who is vegetarian, or vegan (or me) a gift… holidays are coming up, and you know some of us also have December birthdays!

Are you conscious about the skincare and beauty products you use?

When was the last time you treated yourself to new make-up brushes?
