Vegan Cuts beauty box subscription – two years on

June 12, 2017 //  by Di Hickman//  48 Comments

Last week I was lamenting to a friend that I can’t believe it’s June already. When I began writing May’s Vegan Cuts beauty box review I realized it’s been two years since I took the plunge and subscribed to Vegan Cuts. Holy cow. So what I thought I’d do along with the review today is share ways in which having a subscription to the vegan beauty box has enriched my life.

DISCLAIMER: This post may contain affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, I’ll receive a small commission. This helps support my website and allows me to continue to make videos and blog posts like this. Thank you for the support!

Reasons Why I love Subscribing to Vegan Cuts Beauty Box

  1. I can be absolutely sure the products are 100% cruelty free, and vegan.
  2. Getting some fun mail each month makes me happy.
  3. I’ve discovered some amazing brands through the subscription service.
  4. Using this service has made me open to trying new brands
  5. I’m more apt to use products. Even if at first glance I don’t think they are for me.
  6. Through using this service I am embracing my inner girly girl
  7. I’m supporting vegan companies directly, and indirectly.

If you’re interested in the Vegan Beauty Box subscription check out the Vegan Cuts website. They have many subscription options and they offer free shipping within the USA. The may vegan beauty box was Summer-Beach Beauty themed and it was packed full of amazing products as usual. I did a video unboxing so if you’d rather check that out then click below, or watch via YouTube and don’t forget to subscribe to my channel.

Clay Mask – Salis Skincare

When I was a teen my skin was terrible. It was acne prone and generally problematic. Monthly hormones never did me any favors either. One thing I’ve always dealt with is blackheads along my nose. Weekly face masks help a lot with this (and other skin issues) and so I am loving this natural clay mask by Salis Skincare. It contains three simple ingredients to help promote healthy clear glowing skin. As you only use it on areas that have Blackheads this is going to last a while.  You’re supposed to leave it on overnight, but um, that kinda spoils the bedroom magic if you know what I’m saying. So I just used it in the house when I was recovering from my wisdom teeth surgery. I was able to leave it on 30 minutes and it REALLY did a great job of drying out the oily T-zone. The clay mask has a $7.50 value.

Foundation Brush – Luxie Beauty

One thing I love about this box by Vegan Cuts is, it’s general beauty box. So that includes, makeup, skincare, body, face, hair, and applicators. Which means makeup brushes! The May box features the “Dream Catcher” foundation brush by Luxie Beauty. I got a Luxie Beauty brush in a previous vegan beauty box and love it, so I was eager to try this one out. And as luck would have it I recently switched to a pressed powder that needed a brush. I love it. The brush has a $20 value.

I also recently upgraded my brush storage from being crammed into my makeup bag to this beautiful beach pebble bowl. It makes applying makeup so much easier and looks cute as heck in the bathroom too. Plus it only cost me $2 to make! Just a small bowl and bag of pebbles, both from the Dollartree, and boom. A fun addition to our beach themed bathroom.

Eye Shadow – Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques

Some people might hate getting repeat products in their boxes but I love it. Especially when it’s something I loved in a previous box. Exactly two years ago I received my first Vegan Beauty Box and inside was a Lauren Brookes eye shadow. This month I got another and I was over the moon because they are amazing. The eye shadows are highly pigmented, and apply smoothly and easily. The color is “sweet pea” it’s perfect for daytime wear! The eyeshadow has a $14.50 value.

Aromatherapy Spray – Little Moon Essentials

Over the last 3 months I’ve been saying that I want to blog more, do more videos etc. And I start to plan, then kinda fizzle out. It seems my focus is off. So I’m really hoping this “clear mind” aromatherapy spray from Little Moon Essentials keeps me motivated and on track. I’m keeping it in my home office, next to my monitor and plan on spraying myself every time I sit down to write. Here’s hoping I don’t get sidetracked! If this works I’ll definitely be buying some more as I will have homework to do soon as I embark on my RYT500. The spray has a $3.20 value.

Dry Shampoo – Pair’d Beauty

If you have long hair like me Dry Shampoo is a godsend. In a rush all day, and now you need to go out and no time for a shower? Dry shampoo! Seriously it’s an essential in my bathroom. My hair is a real combination. Freshly washed it’s full, wavy, and healthy. The next day is usually starts off great then becomes lank and lifeless. So I dry shampoo, and sometimes if I’m really short on time I sweep it into a ponytail and just dry shampoo the bangs. #timesaver This dry shampoo by Pair’d Beauty is another thing I have easily grown to love. The spray makes it easy to apply, and a quick blow dry and I’m good to go! This deluxe sample has a $6 value.

Facial Cleansing Bar – Nubian Heritage

It’s strange to me how things often come full circle, whether in fitness, fashion or beauty. As a girl I only used bar soaps, then in adulthood I switched to liquid cleansers and soaps. Now, in my 40’s I find myself embracing bars again. This African black cleansing bar is gentle bar that naturally removes impurities without drying. The cleansing bar has a $5 value. Nubian Heritage has become a favorite brand that I discovered through a previous Vegan beauty box. Their body lotion is amazing I highly recommend it.

All in all another great month of cruelty free products, and I’m already looking forward to the next box. If you’re interested in your getting your own vegan beauty box delivered to your door every month then check out Vegan Cuts. They do a snack box too, and a quarterly makeup box. The retail value of the May box is over $55 so you definitely get your money’s worth!

I have been trying to transition to all cruelty-free makeup, but Wow – it’s hard when companies keep changing their standards every other week. I like that with this subscription box, you don’t have to worry about that.

I’ve been thinking about trying a new subscription box. I like the idea of trying out more vegan products. I like a liquid cleanser, but am always up for trying something new. I store my brushes in old candle holders under my sink.
