Pyramid Pose Yoga Flow – 60 minute yoga class for beginners

May 5, 2020 //  by Di Hickman

As we headed into the lock down in March, the gyms and yoga studio closed and I shifted my focus online. This free 60 minute Pyramid Pose Yoga flow class is the last thing I filmed in my 'old' yoga room. It's being remodeled (DIY project), so this class feels a little bitter sweet. A surrender into a new phase in my life, on so many levels. Because we're remodeling the room ourselves this video edit took a while. I edited the first half, then got deep into painting and sanding before …

15-Minute Mat Pilates Workout for Beginners

June 16, 2016 //  by Di Hickman

While HIIT is a great way to increase fitness, one question I get asked a lot, in person and in the blog comments, is "what to do if you're a beginner"? High impact or high-intensity workouts are great for fat burning but they aren't really suitable for beginners. Or maybe you're working around an injury, there are workouts you can continue to do in order to y fit. I suggest something less intense, like this 15 minute Mat Pilates Workout! Did you know that Pilates was originally created …

May 25, 2016 //  by Di Hickman

Happy Workout Wednesday! I have my Lorna Jane "Happy" tank on so let's do a  5 minute core workout you can do ANYWHERE! That's been the theme of the workouts this month in case you hadn't noticed. No equipment needed! Honestly I don't spend a lot of time working my abs, I really don't think you need to. Frankly 5-10 minutes is the max I generally spend, and that's usually about twice a week. The full workout video is below, but  don't forget to check out my YouTube channel for more workout …

September 23, 2015 //  by Di Hickman

I'm all about getting BANG for your buck and this week I wanted to show you a total body workout using the agility ladder with my workout and video that I cleverly titled: Total Body Agility Ladder Workout. So this week's workout includes cardio, strength, upper body, lower body and core! The full video is …

5 Exercise AMRAP – workout at home

September 16, 2015 //  by Di Hickman

Happy Humpday friends! Usually this is the time of week when the diets and workouts start to slide, I know this because I see and hear it every week at the gym. Honestly for me Wednesdays are fun. It's a slow-ish day with just one fitness class to teach, I still have training clients, but I'm more kicking other people's butts rather than my own. Anyways kicking butt is what I do. I keep threatening to get a t-shirt that says "professional butt kicker"... I really should do that. So …

I've been  using agility ladders for a while in my own training and in the training programs of my personal training clients. Today I want to share a workout that uses five agility ladder drills. That's simply 5 exercises using the agility ladder to bump up the heart rate and show you 5 drills you can do to incorporate agility ladders drills into your workouts. These can be used together, as directed or as part of a longer workout that includes other strength or cardio based movements. I'll …

Interval workouts have always been a part of my fitness routine. Mostly because I don't have to count. I can just set a timer and workout. I'm a fan of keeping it simple. So choosing 4-5 exercises and repeating them is as simple as it gets. I've been doing this 8-minute step interval workout over the last few weeks and thought I'd share.
