Spinning playlist #5

August 28, 2012 //  by Di Hickman//  5 Comments

It’s been a while since I posted a spinning playlist so I figured it was overdue! I’ve linked up the playlist to iTunes at the bottom of the post but if you can’t wait then just CLICK HERE to go listen and see what you think ๐Ÿ™‚ You can also find my other playlists via this link ๐Ÿ™‚ The one track I had trouble finding was track 4 “I need a hero”, I have a remix but I don’t know the exact remix (I think it’s Soul Sister? So many remixes!!!), so I just linked up one that sounds similar ๐Ÿ™‚ Feel free to pick and choose a few tracks or all! Run time: 55 minutes. Enjoy!

Where Them Girls at – Workout Remix:– Warm Up. Easy Resistance and nice flowing song. I get my classes up and into 2nd/3rd positions here so I can go over technique and form while everyone is paying attention. Especially important for newbies. This is a little faster than the original by David Guetta, I like it ๐Ÿ™‚

Last Friday Night – Katy Perry:- Warm Up continued ๐Ÿ™‚ For this one add a little resistance, maybe 20% coming out of the saddle for the chorus. Keep it happy!

Rumor Has it (garage remix) – Adele: I know, you’re thinking BORING! No, the remix is good! Techno dance beat that is great for a CLIMB! Get up and out the saddle for this one, or stay down for 6 minutes tough climb!!! Should end up pretty high on the resistance at the end, around 80% max.

I need a Hero (remix)- Andrew Spencer: Back down in the saddle for sprints. Time them or go with the music flow.

Thunderstruck (warp brothers remix) – Blizzard Brothers: Great remix, love this version of the classic AC-DC song. Add some resistance for a good tempo ride. Keep around 40% max resistance and ride that sucker. It’s a long song (7 minutes!) so it will be challenging to keep the tempo for the whole thing.

Lights – Ellie Golding: Add some resistance we’re gonna climb again. Slower tempo so increase the resistance!!! I repeat CLIMB! I like to be out the saddle for this one to get max resistance at the end.

Jumpin’ Jumpin’ – Destiny’s Child: Take it down a little from the last song but keep tension med-high, maybe 75-85% of your max. Up and down out the saddle JUMPIN’ JUMPIN’!

Song 2 (extended remix) – Song 2: Release that resistance to around 20% and sprint! You’ll know when – whoooohoooo!

Turn Me On – – David Guetta and Nicki Minaj: Nice slow incline on this one, begin by adding resistance to around 40% and increase from there, end the song around 75% so we can go hard and heavy in the final climb…

Keeps Getting Better – Christina Aguillera: Ok start down in the saddle for a three minute climb. Add every minute till you are at 95%. Choice: either stay down for the 3 minutes or come out to 2nd at 1 minute, and 3rd at 3rd minute!

Scream – Usher: Fun song to come back down from the climb. No we’re not taking it all the way down right away! Come to around 75% and hold for a while in the saddle, each chorus take it down 20% and come up for a gentle run getting easier every time.

Rebel Yell – Scooter: Almost flat for a fun easy sprints on/off using last minute for cool down resistance all the way down.

Big Girls Don’t Cry – Fergie: Stretch out and towel off ๐Ÿ™‚

you should just be able to click the link and see the complete playlist and select ‘buy’ in iTunes. Unfortunately they changed their system a few months back and no longer have ‘ping” lists (social media through iTunes).

Hey Di, what a great blog! I love how spiffy it is and I am looking forward to perusing it in more detail (and checking out the songs I’m not familiar with from your playlists.) I would like to put a link to your blog on mine – please feel free to do the same if you like. All the best, Cynthia
