Seated Eagle Pose 15 Min Chair Yoga Sequence

June 25, 2021 //  by Di Hickman//  Leave a Comment

A few times a year my yoga classes get themed to the season or Holiday. For example, doing Tree pose around Christmas or Arbor day. One yoga pose that’s a staple to celebrate Independence day here in the United States, is Eagle Pose. To switch things up this year I’ve been exploring seated eagle pose, and created this 15-minute chair yoga sequence.

If you can’t view the embedded video above, you can view the video on YouTube. Maybe add it to a playlist? Above all, remember to subscribe to my channel. New videos are uploaded every week. However, for exclusive longer format videos sign up for my Patreon community. Patrons also get early access to all my videos, along with lots of other benefits.

Seated Eagle Pose Sequence

If there is one misconception in yoga I’d like to debunk it’s that using props makes poses easier. That is not always the case. Seated eagle pose is one of those poses that looks easier in the chair when it actual fact it just allows you to focus your attention on alignment, and the energetic quality of the pose. In standing eagle, many people sink into the lower body, and seated eagle gives us the opportunity to root down through the foot connected to the floor, while soaring upwards through the upper body.

Exploring eagle pose from sitting really allows us to notice the energy throughout the body. Also, it enables us to experience the pose without compromising the sensitive joint in the knee. Finding the strength in the pose, without the pesky balance to distract us. Give this seated eagle pose sequence a try this holiday!
