Review: Pangea Organics

January 17, 2013 //  by Di Hickman//  4 Comments

So I’m a little behind on reviews… as such in the next few weeks I’ll be doing one review a week. Today I’m starting with Pangea Organics. A while ago October I received a free gift that I signed up for via twitter/facebook and Experience Life magazine. You know how it is, you see a free offer, you sign up and forget about it till it drops through the mail weeks later.

I really did plan on posting the review earlier but life & work got busy, then the vacation and sickness… it was on my to-do list and things get done eventually. I just have to prioritize, don’t we all? Now I shamefully really don’t take that good care of my skin. It’s something I’ve gotten better at since a couple of surgeries (granuloma in the ear lobe, look at my lobe sometime, the left one is chopped off, and another on the eyebrow), however I’m no skin therapist but I do love a good facial I just don’t treat myself often enough.  So I was happy to see in the package I got 2 samples. A facial scrub and a mask, just what I needed.

As I had a busy few days I scheduled some “me time”. So I came home from a busy morning at work, showered and set about pampering myself for 30 minutes. That was all I needed. According the packaging the scrub was pretty much a scrub and done and the mask needed 10-20 minutes. I could sit still that long right? right?

I love that Pangea are cruelty free, and aside from 4 of their products they are ALL VEGAN. Whilst I’m not a vegan yet I do appreciate that companies try and be as cruelty free as possible. Pangea is also gmo free and all organic. So post-shower I ripped open the scrub and went for it..

The first thing that hits you is the smell, divine! There is something about high end natural beauty products that just smell absolutely wonderful. I once spent 5 days at a spa and this Pangea facial scrub smelt EXACTLY like the scrubs they used. Even though I know it wasn’t, the spa used Clarins products. It’s just the smell of awesomeness 🙂 It was like a typical facial scrub, I try to use one daily now (clinique or St Ives) although a little lighter than those. The package was more than enough for one application. I smothered my face and neck, then had some left over for elbows/knees/feet. Mid-scrub:

I wasn’t sure I was going to post the photo’s once I’d taken them but because I’m trying to be more open and interactive I decided to post them in my post shower glory and bathroom lighting nastiness. I loved the feel of the scrub, like I said it felt lighter than what I was used to. It reminded me of a scrub I used to use in my 20’s, that was from the body shop and also had adzuki beans in it. It wasn’t the smell (geraniums) but the texture that reminded me of the body shop scrub. All in all two thumbs up for the scrub! So onto the mask…

There was a time in my life when I’d have a facial mask at home at least once a month but life happens and you get out of habits and before you know it you’re married with two dogs and living in a different country. So I guess I’m saying that I cannot remember the last time I had a facial mask before this or since. The mask was definitely different to ones I’d had in the past, but my skin is different too. My skin used to be a lot more oily, different age different climate, and as such I’d have more mud based clay masks. Now it seems much more prone to dryness, so I guess as the needs change the mask must change too!

The mask was “slippy” and a lot more moist than I’m used to, but again good coverage and I got it slathered all over my face and neck (as per the instructions). The texture felt nice on my skin and my skin didn’t feel ‘tight and dry’ like it had in the past. It felt clean. I’m not going to lie, getting it off was a challenge! However I’m not the most “girly” of women either so I guess that doesn’t really help. It didn’t really ‘wash off’ completely, some of it had to be ‘helped’ with a cotton wool pad. My skin was so super soft and awesome afterwards though! I’d definitely use Pangea again, and I’d look at trying there other products too.

Have you tried Pangea Products?

I also believe that Pangea products are good, but they are expensive! If you’re looking for botanical ingredients and reasonable price, I would really recommend looking at Made from Earth’s stuff. Specifically, in the way of face moisturizer, I enthusiastically recommend their Vitamin C Moisturizer.

My degree is in biochemistry, and I feel VERY safe with these ingredients, aside from the phenoxyethanol. I know that for some people, that’s a deal-breaker. I’m not crazy about it, but I’ve decided to tolerate it.

Hi there! I’m an Independent Beauty Ecologist for Pangea Organics, and I love to hear when people love it, because that’s what happened to me! I fell in love right away. Which reminds me, if you haven’t tried Pangea’s Himalayan Geranium & Pomegranate Balancing Oil you are missing out! Your face will love it. It’s great for all skin types and your skin is left jam-packed full of nutrients, hydrated and soft as a baby’s bottom lol. If you haven’t found a rep in your area, I would love to help you learn more about Pangea. Check out my site at http://HealthySkinParty.com

Pangea Organics products have done miracles to my skin. I have been using the Egyptian Geranium with Adzuki Bean & Cranberry Facial Scrub, the Australian Wild Plum & Willow Facial Cleanser & the Nigerian Ginger, Sweet Lavender & Thyme Facial Cream. My skin type is combination so it is dry in some areas and oily in the T zone. I used to get breakouts but since I started using these wonderful products my skin is clear and hydrated. I am a big believer in Organic well being for the benefit of our body & our world. Organic brands such as Pangea will always use the best natural ingredients to work together with what our body need, rather than chemically produced products that use artificial ingredients that achieve only a short, fast result but on the long run, can harm our body. I found a great website in Australia that sell only organic skin care and makeup called Organic Glow: http://www.organicglow.com.au/pangea-organics/pangea-organics-nigerian-ginger-sweet-lavender-and-thyme-facial-cream. They stock all Pangea’s range and give away samples as well. I feel blesses that I can give myself the best possible care naturally and keeping the planet free from artificial alternatives.
