All good things must come to an end, and in May we had the final weekend of of my RYT 300 yoga teacher training. As a yearly intensive it's been a wild ride with a small group of women that I have come to think of as sisters. My yoga family. We've shared so much this year. From health issues, to changing careers, marriages ending, relationships blooming, independence gained and confidence discovered. So many changes, and so much growth I am truly honored to call these ladies friends. They …

One Guiding Word 2018: Explore
Instead of setting resolutions for the New Year for the last 11 years I've chosen one guiding word to set intentions for the 12 months to come. I first started doing this is in 2007 when I was heavy into crafting and scrapbooking. I first saw the one word concept on Ali Edwards blog and immediately connected with it. My guiding word over the years have included: Focus - 2007 Change - 2008 Adapt - 2009 Balance - 2010 Achieve - 2011 Grow - 2012 Challenge - 2013 Thrive - …
Ayurvedic Skin Care products in the April Beauty Box
I shared on instagram this weekend the unboxing of the April Vegan Cuts beauty box and it occurred to me I didn't post on my blog with the amazing products I got this month. April was another great month as I got some really fun beauty, skincare and makeup products to add to my stash. As much as I like 99% of the products I get in the Vegan Cuts beauty box, I've had a few that have really caught my attention. This month it's finding Ayurvedic Skin Care products. Disclaimer: This …

7 Tips for using bathroom scales
This post is sponsored by Eat Smart for their battery free digital bathroom scale. Over the holidays I gained some pudge. Thanks to a 12 week whirlwind of a Hawaii vacation, Thanksgiving, birthday, Christmas, New Year, and culminating in a week at Disneyworld in January. If I'm honest though things were going South before that. 2016 was a pretty great year for me financially but I quickly realized that training clients 1-on-1 and teaching yoga classes has a limit. There is only so much you can …
5 tips to staying energized all day, with Kicao energy bars
This post is sponsored by Kicao Energy Bars Just like most people nowadays, I live a full and busy life. Which honestly sometimes can be a little too busy. For example? I teach group fitness classes at Gold's Gym 3 days a week. Three days a week I also teach classes at Yoga Nook, and this year I'm also a part of the yoga teacher training faculty which I am thoroughly enjoying. Then, throughout the week I run my personal training business, training private clients, in-home and online. …

Booty Burner – boot camp interval workout #3
If you ask women the area they want to tone the majority are going to say "legs, and butt!", and yes, I'm one of them. Luckily interval workout #3 from my free 31 day bootcamp is sure to light up the upper body. However it really sets fire to legs, giving you a booty burner of a workout. I admit my legs and butt are something I work on three times a week as it's where I tend to hold my fat, thanks to genetics. Now you can't spot reduce fat remember, but by doing exercises that incorporate …
5 things to look for when joining a gym
It's the busiest time of year for fitness and health clubs. This is the crazy period. Believe me I work at these places... I know! It's the time of year when everyone comes out of hiding. Like they suddenly remember they have gym membership. Plus, you see a HUGE influx of new members. The question is, with so many options which facility do you choose? Even in our small city we have 5 large gyms. That's not counting the pilates studio, yoga studio, cardio barre, the YMCA, dance studios, crossfit …
Using one word to guide you through 2017
Since 2007 I've been picking One Little Word to set an intention through the year ahead. This concept was introduced to me back in my scrapbooking designer days by Ali Edwards. It's something I felt drawn to and something I've done every year since. Sometimes the words I've chosen have been amazing. Others, not so much. I get it, New Year's resolutions may not be something you do. However you may just find one little word something you embrace with open arms, and are more successful …
Hawaii vacation: our destination relaxation
Last year when we vacationed in Hawaii, I fell in love. Not just with the Island, but the condo, beach, snorkeling, people, nature, ocean, the chilled lifestyle, pretty much everything. Hawaii was the epitome of a life changing vacation. Earlier this year, we visited friends and family in England (so NOT a vacation!) but I was yearning to go back to Hawaii. The islands were calling me. I was able to answer that call as we snagged a cancellation at the condo we stayed at previously. In November, …
