During the pandemic, I spent a lot of time creating online content. Including videos, blog posts, coloring pages, and other printables. This means more time spent on the computer writing, editing videos, and creating in Inkscape. As such my back gets a little ‘tweaky’. So I figured I’d share this quick office chair yoga for lower back pain routine I do to offset all the sitting.

Office chair yoga for lower back pain
One thing that ALWAYS helps my low back is some cat and cow so I try to include that movement in all my classes. It’s a great way of mobilizing the spine. From here for this office chair yoga for lower back pain class, I’m including a barrel roll action. Think invisible hula hoop!

Lately, one thing I’ve been enjoying is some light core work to really get into the hip flexors and spine. Plus hugging one knee to the chest really helps to get the arms and shoulders moving.

Finally in this office chair yoga for lower back pain is my favorite chair stretch. One arm reaching back and down (towards the chair leg) and the other reaching forward and up. Adds in a slight twist, without it being too much after all the sitting.

This lengthens my sides and makes me feel taller. Plus it helps me focus on sitting in a good posture in my chair. Even if for a short while. Want more yoga with a chair? Check out my other chair yoga posts!
