Ok another meatless Monday! Yep I know it’s Tuesday but I was prepping this post yesterday and didn’t get around to finishing it off so it’s a slightly delayed meatless Monday! This week I wanted to review the Whole Foods breaded chickenless patties that I picked up a few weeks ago.

I love the front of the packaging states VEGAN, no cholesterol, and no saturated fat. I’d love to see more manufacturers put VEGAN right there on the packaging rather than having to scour the ingredients for milk and eggs.  Yes I’m THAT person in the store!

Each pattie is 150 calories and 11g of protein, and 6g of fat. The salt again higher than *I* would like but for occasional use processed foods like this are fine. Remember 410mg is 1/3 of MY daily amount of sodium as someone with kidney disease. I really wish the FDA would mandate a reduction on sodium in processed foods. As you can see from the ingredients the protein is via wheat protein:

The patty itself is the regular hamburger bun size of patty. I cooked ours on the stove top, and they cooked nicely and turned a nice golden brown.

Texture wise they were good, and tasty too. I had mine bunless as I felt like I had enough wheat in the patty already.

In all a thumbs up from us!

Have you tried the whole foods vegan products? What’s your favorite?
