Meatless Monday: Fruit Krumble Recipe

April 6, 2015 //  by Di Hickman//  Leave a Comment

meatless monday vegan pear krumble recipe

Another Monday rolls around, and as it’s Meatless Monday I want to share this recipe for a warm fruit Krumble. In England we have a dessert called apple crumble which has stewed apples and a topping of a crumbled cooked mixture of flour, margarine sugar. Not the healthiest of things to combine with fruit eh? Delicious though. So I decided to come up with something that would work instead of the fat laden, processed original and make it healthier and whole foods based. Enter dates, coconut and oats! Whilst not a taste of home, it sure makes a great dessert and satisfies a sweet tooth whilst staying on a clean eating plan.

This week Bob bought us a new cookbook, the THUG KITCHEN COOKBOOK. Now I already have a TON of cookbooks I rarely use but it’s funny that I’d been following Thug Kitchen a while and he orders the book without even knowing who are they are or that I follow them. I love THUG KITCHEN because they keep shit real. Yes I read through the book and laughed. If you didn’t you don’t have a sense of humor. Also if you’re easily offended DON’T BUY IT. I will be doing a full review in the future on the book once I’ve tried a couple of the recipes.
