Halloween Playlist – Spinning Workout 2012

October 25, 2012 //  by Di Hickman//  2 Comments

It’s almost Halloween. Which means it’s time for a spooky spinning Halloween playlist! Not a cyclist? No worries, these songs can be used for cycle classes, workouts, parties and more.

Need some seasonal tunes for a cycle class? Want to workout so you can outrun Zombies? Try this Halloween Playlist full of spooky seasonal songs. Including different eras and genres.

Above all remember that Halloween playlists don’t need to be cliche. That means sometimes you need to think outside the box. Be a little different. Embrace the strange. Your Halloween playlist can be totally obnoxious, or spookily subtle. Disclosure: Links in this post may be affiliate links.

Halloween Playlist 2012

The trick to a good cycling playlist is finding remixes and covers to make things more upbeat. Plus choosing different genres, so that everyone gets at least one track they are familiar with and can sing along to. There are TONS of tunes available that can rock the Halloween theme playlist without being twee! So here is my Halloween Playlist for 2012. You can find more workout playlists on my website.

Ghostbusters (workout mix) – power music: This is a fun mix, that will have people realizing your plan. But it’s a little faster than the usual song so they’ll know they are in for a ride. During the song we’ll do a typical warm up, stay in the saddle. Also, its only 2 minutes long! Buy it on Amazon

Zombie (Ray Know Hands Up extended Club Remix) – Andrew Spencer & the Vamprockerz: 6 minute song which allows for some tension and climbing in/out of the saddle to a rocking beat that people will know but again it’s amped up 😉 The original is way to slow IMO, this mix is kinda fun. We had a remix version out in England by A.D.A.M years ago, this one sounds cool and you can get it on Amazon.

Thriller – Michael Jackson: Old School but it’s a halloween mix ya gotta have it on there! I like a nice medium climb out of the saddle to this. It’s a good tempo climb, Stay with the beat. For some added pain (it is Halloween afterall!) you can do isolation on the “creepy talking” part. Everyone knows it! Find it on Amazon

Highway to Hell – AC-DC: Heavy climb in and out the saddle. I preferred saddle and 3rd. Come out the saddle during the chorus. It’s quick at just 3 minutes long 😉 Encourage members to increase the tension and dig in deep! If you feel really evil, get them to stay down in the saddle! I like the remix by Thunderstruck, but the original works too. Available on Amazon

I want candy – Bow wow wow: After the tension we had for two rides lets get our easy ride on for 5 minutes! Reduce the tension to around 20% and go with the flow. I like mixing a tempo with sprints. Available on Amazon

Ghost town – The specials: Go hard and heavy or go home! It’s almost 4 minutes climbing, I like to be up out of the saddle after the sprints, my preference is hard heavy resistance (90%) in third. They won’t be there long 😉 Available on Amazon

Monster – Skillet: OMG one of my favorite songs I discovered earlier this year totally by accident. Reduce some tension to around 75% and sit down to climb, coming out into 3rd during the chorus. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! Available on Amazon

Voodoo People – The Prodigy: Time to get happy with a tempo ride and it’s long at 6 1/2 minutes but WOW love it! Prodigy! Listen to the song you’ll feel the saddle/2nd/3rd positions. Tension around 30%. Make em work 😉 Available on Amazon

Blood is Pumpin’ (club mix) – voodoo & serano: Ok this song is almost 8 minutes long. I have a shorter version (6 minutes) but I couldn’t find it on iTunes :/ By the end of the last song/climb the class members should be around 60% of their resistance, challenge is to add a little bit more and go. All three positions in this track, slow is saddle, feel the beat to come out the saddle, when the music intensity rises so do we!!!! Available on Amazon

You’re going down (radio edit) – Sick Puppies: Ramp up the resistance to climb climb climb. Again go heavy or get the hell out! Stay down in the saddle for verse, up during the chorus into third for a faster push. Option to increase resistance during the three minutes to really kill em off 😉 Available on Amazon (explicit version also available)

Devil inside – Powerman 5000: it’s a cover but sometimes they are WAY better than the originals and this one is one of them IMO. The original is a little slow. On the other hand this cover has a great beat which makes it an easy climb. During the last 1/2 of the song, decrease the tension for a cool down. Available on Amazon

Abracadabra – Steve Miller Band: Last song which means it’s time for a cool down and stretch…. Available on Amazon
