Half Split Yoga Sequence – 15 minute hatha yoga flow

May 20, 2020 //  by Di Hickman//  Leave a Comment

My mission is to provide my community the tools and information they need to live their life to their fullest potential. They ask and, to my best ability, I provide. Julianne asked for help with her splits so I created a tutorial on half front splits, and this 15 minute half split yoga sequence.

Half front split 15 minute flow. Exploring ardha hanumanasana creating length in the back body

Half front split is the precursor pose to full splits. Why did I choose half split instead of full splits? Because, as you get more flexible in half split you increase your progression to full splits. It’s more accessible to more people. And, because we need to walk before we run.

Half front split is a fun pose, because there are so many ways to modify with props. Not to mention, different variations! We explore all these variations in ardha hanumanasana to lengthen the back body. I did a full video, which you can view below.

You can also watch this video on YouTube. Plus, you’ll also find other yoga, health and wellness videos there so be sure to subscribe!

15 minutes for some hamstring TLC

This 15 minute hatha yoga flow features a quick warm up for the spine and moves into downward dog and forward fold. From Uttanasana we explore low lunge, and half split. Each time we go through the half split yoga sequence something is added on. This repetition allow us time to experience if anything is different.

During the video, each time I went through the sequence I felt like I was deeper in my forward fold. Imagine my surprise when while editing I noticed just how much improved uttanasana was!

As you can probably tell hamstrings and low back are a tight area for me. But, this was a HUGE improvement in 15 minutes!
