Personalize your water bottle with Glasstic

February 20, 2018 //  by Di Hickman//  30 Comments

Have you ever found yourself in the gym/yoga studio and reaching for your water bottle only to find your picking up someone else’s bottle? Tired of the design on your water bottle? Ready to switch your plastic bottle to something a little more sustainable but don’t like the metallic taste of stainless steel? Want to use glass, but afraid it’s too fragile? Why not personalize your water bottle?

Glasstic water bottle

The folks at Glasstic sent me one of their water bottles.  I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample for review purposes. The opinions are completely my own, and based on my experience. Glasstic can fully personalize your water bottles by printing on the outer plastic shell. While this is a fantastic option, it’s not for me. My issue is I get bored easily, plus I like to coordinate with colors, themes or seasons. So you’ll be pleased to know there are other options and that’s where this ingenious water bottle design by Glasstic comes in. The Glasstic water bottle has the benefit of drinking from Glass, but the outer protective shell is plastic. Glass and plastic: Glasstic! It’s fantastic.

Honestly I’m a total Klutz, and prone to dropping things so the thought of having a glass water bottle scares me a little. Thankfully the Glasstic bottle is protected in a plastic outer layer. So even if I did drop it, and it smashed, the pieces are contained. This means there is no danger of injury, or the clean up hassle. Plus the folks at Glasstic have an excellent lifetime warranty for part replacement, so really you can’t go wrong with this water bottle!

How to personalize your water bottle

Due to the unique sleeve design of the Glasstic water bottle, it’s super easy to personalize. The bottle is made with a glass insert and a plastic sleeve, this means there is a vacuum space between the glass and plastic that you can slip in paper, photo’s, magazine pages, printed pages, transparencies and more. The ideas come and they keep coming!

So for this project you will need:

  • 1 Glasstic Water bottle
  • Patterned paper
  • Paper Trimmer/Scissors

I went on a trip to Joann’s and scored 12 sheets of patterned paper for just $2 so this project can last throughout many seasons! I got some generic patterned paper, one of Easter, 4th July and Halloween. No doubt I’ll be back for some other seasonal papers too. After measuring the bottle I found the perfect depth for full coverage inside the sleeve to be 7 1/2 inches.

After cutting the paper to the desired depth I made a cone and slipped it inside the plastic outer tube of the Glasstic Water Bottle. With the paper in place I then reassembled the Glasstic water bottle, trapping the paper between the glass and plastic. Voila, one personalized water bottle!

As I had the other papers handy dandy I figured I’d get busy and make some extra inserts now, and play demonstrate the possibilities. This is truly a water bottle for all Seasons and occasions. Imagine the insert for showing your sports teams, business, photographs, child’s artwork, you could print a spelling list, weekly schedule and so much more!

While I loved the stars and stripes it’s February and not really appropriate, neither were the Easter bunnies, so I went with something a little more neutral SPOTS! I love spots (I have a dalmatian afterall) and thought the spotty paper went well with my outfit for the day.

After using the Glasstic water bottle for a while I was pretty impressed. Not only do I get the benefit of it being BPA free, I’m drinking out the glass portion, the lid totally locks, it fits in all my cup holders, has a carry handle AND looks good! Seriously cannot be beat! You may discover another post on this bottle soon, as when I was writing this post I came up with more ideas to personalize your water bottle using printable transparencies, and dry erase pens.

With Glasstic there are so many ideas to personalize your water bottle, you are only limited by your creativity!

Questions:

  • What do you think about the Glasstic water bottle design?
  • Any creative ideas you can think of for personalizing this bottle?
  • What’s your favorite spots or stripes?

I’m so clutsy. I would likely end up dropping it. So I love that this is protected! I also love that you can personalize it.

Sounds like an awesome water bottle! I love that you can personalize it and that it has everything you need including a handle and the fact that it fits all your cup holder (that’s something I want too!). I love using a water bottle because it saves you from using plastic ones.

That’s where I got the papers from. And yes they had some really cool papers, that were a little too “out there” for me, but skies the limit!
