**Disclosure: It’s always my policy to make you aware… I received this product for free in exchange for a fair and honest review. Also this post may contain affiliate links.  If you happen to click through and purchase, I might get paid.  If I get paid, you might be supporting my running shoe addiction. **

Eco friendly skincare and beauty has been one of my goals for 2015. It started slowly but in May I joined Vegan Cuts and receive their monthly Beauty Box. I loved that service so much I just became a Vegan Cuts Ambassador (yes that was an affiliate link!). However I want more. I love to support all vegan cruelty free and eco friendly products and recently got the chance to try out My Konjac Sponge.

Sustainable and Vegan, Eco Friendly Skincare

Made from Bamboo Charcoal the Konjac Sponge is great for natural skincare. It’s completely natural with no harsh chemicals making it perfect for my sensitive skin. When I received the sponge in the package it was pretty dense, but with some water it soon softened and was just the perfect amount of exfoliation for my skin. I use this in the morning before applying my moisturizer and make-up and again in the evening before applying my Rosehip Seed Oil.

I loved that unlike regular sponges this contains natural anti-oxidants that help fight acne-causing bacteria. My skin can sometimes be problematic with the amount of sweating that I do so it’s nice to have something like this that is a gentle exfoliate, natural, and I can use daily. The low-down on this eco friendly skincare product:

  • Peta & leaping bunny certified
  • 100% natural sponge
  • 100% coloring and additive free
  • 100% biodegradable.
  • Recyclable packaging

To use the My Konjac Sponge, soften it by getting it wet, then  gently massage face in circular motion. When you’ve finished rinse, squeeze out excess water and hang to dry using the attached string. I loved the fresh feeling it gave to my skin when I used it. It wasn’t harsh but definitely sloughed off some dead skin cells. It’s available for purchase in Whole Foods and some other natural foods stores, but easy to get delivered to your door via Amazon. They do a variety of sponges in the My Konjac Sponges brand, including ones for different skin types, for the face and for the body. If you’re a vegan looking to use more eco friendly skincare products I definitely recommend the My Konjac Sponges.

Questions:

Do you use a sponge in your skincare routine?

Are you trying to be more sustainable and use eco friendly skincare products?
