I always said that if I tried somewhere new (or revisited old places) I'd do a blog review, so here is a blog review on Cafe Graikos. As it implies the menu here is greek and we've been here before a few times, and aside from one time have never been disappointed. We hadn't been in a while so we were a little dismayed to see NO SIGN on the front declaring Cafe Graikos open, but upon driving by we saw it was indeed still there so we parked up and sat down ready to eat. Our waitress came over …

Review: Red Robin
So I posted about Islands a couple of weeks ago and it prompted us to return to Red Robin (sometimes you just crave burger and fries right?) so I thought I'd do an update and review on Red Robin, and why I think it's better than Islands ;) Well like I said Bob had raced in the morning, it was the holiday weekend, and date night. Lots of reasons to be craving a good ol' fashioned burger and fries ;) So we showered and changed and headed out to Red Robin. We've liked Red Robin since trying it …
Review: Trader Joes Soy Yogurt
So recently I tried to go vegan, I've been vegetarian for 20 years and figured it was time to take the final push. That didn't work out so well but we tried some new foods and I figured they deserved a proper burial review. I reviewed the cultured coconut yogurt milk previously and this was the other desert option I tried. Listed as Vegan and Gluten free right on the container this Soy Yogurt caught my eye immediately on our vegan shopping trip. I picked up this large 24oz vanilla, and a couple …
Review: Islands Restaurant
Saturday night for us is date night. Sometimes we stick to places we know, sometimes we go somewhere new, recently one of those new places was Islands Restaurant. Not that new to our area but new to us. I actually fancied going to Red Robin, craving burger and fries, and Bob suggested we try Islands as somewhere new :) So off we went! We'd had a long day and it was date night which meant: BEER! I had the pale ale, Bob had the dark ale. Yes I had the bigger one ;) Bob was driving! Upon looking …
Spinning playlist #5
It's been a while since I posted a spinning playlist so I figured it was overdue! I've linked up the playlist to iTunes at the bottom of the post but if you can't wait then just CLICK HERE to go listen and see what you think :) You can also find my other playlists via this link :) The one track I had trouble finding was track 4 "I need a hero", I have a remix but I don't know the exact remix (I think it's Soul Sister? So many remixes!!!), so I just linked up one that sounds similar :) Feel free …
Food Friday Tip – prepare your food (sandwich thins)
As it's Food Friday, today I have a tip for you. As I mentioned Sunday in my review we hardly use bread anymore. I don't eat it at all, and Bob has wraps mostly. The only buns he ate were sesame burger buns from Trader Joes. However I've finally managed to switch him to these Oroweat Sandwich Thins. For those that don't know these have less than HALF the calories of a regular burger bun! Yes they don't have the same substance, but generally most of the calories from a burger come from the BUN, …

Review: Trader Joes Cultured Coconut Milk
Todays post I thought I would do a review of a product I picked up recently at my grocery store mecca (Trader Joes). Anyone else love that place as much as I do? Seriously, much love!!! Anyway as we've been trying to make a few changes at home to a more vegan way of eating (more on that at the end of the month when I do a recap) I was in full lookie loo mode grocery shopping last week and spied these 'new' products in the chiller cabinet! Well they were new to me, I guess if you don't look for …
BodyPump & CXworx – 1 year at Golds Gym!
It's the one year anniversary of Golds Gym Los Angeles getting the Les Mills group fitness programs: BodyPump and CXworx. So I've had a full year to assess the program, and I figure it's good time to give an overview of my thoughts about the programs and to provide a recap of the release I trained on (Bodypump 78 and CXworx 3). Initial thoughts 2011 When I heard that Golds Gym was bringing in the Les Mills formats I talked it over with my girlfriend Julie and told her that I would go to the …
Review: Natural Cafe
One of the places we like to eat at a lot is the Natural Cafe, and as I get asked a lot what I eat when I go out I thought I'd do a little post about one of my favorite places to dine. I first went to Natural Cafe about 8 years ago when we went up to Santa Barbara for a whale watching day. Since then they have expanded and we now have a choice of Four local-(ish) Natural Cafe locations to choose from: Simi Valley, Moorpark, Westlake and Newbury Park. Depending on where we are either could be our …
