Tomorrow is the quarterly launch of the latest Les Mills releases at Gold’s Gym, and a few other gyms in the area so I figure why not do you all a solid favor and get the playlist on the blog early for me. No seriously it’s ok, you’re welcome. As always I like to let you know that links in this post may be affiliate links meaning I earn a small commission on purchases made through the links which means you end up supporting what seems to be an obsession with Fabletics (review coming soon) and Yoga Books. The songs are available on iTunes and Amazon, links are below.

I have to say that normally I am so on top of the new release, but this one is a little different for me because I’m no longer teaching the class Saturday morning at the weekends launch. You see in August I gave up my Saturday morning classes in favor of sleeping doing family stuff, so release 95 feels a little weird right now. I won’t launch this “live” till Monday evening, which means I have the weekend to get the release solid in my brain… hahaha ok good luck Di! Please do me a solid favor and share this post via social media. The images above are Pinterest clickable and Tweets are ready to go below! Thanks guys!

BodyPump 95 Playlist
I admit that this release musically isn’t a favorite. I’ve not really been digging the direction the program as a whole is going with the smaller rep ranges. Honestly I went back to some OLD SCHOOL tracks this week and they KICK ASS! Heavier weights, and full range. I think they need to get back to that. Oh and the lunges with the jumps, oh boy I felt those suckers in my butt for THREE DAYS! Anyway onto release 95.
Warm Up: Outside – Calvin Harris ft Ellie Goulding [Amazon / iTunes ]
Slow to start but once it gets going I like it. Especially liking the power presses in the warm up. That means a big back and shoulder track which is A-OK with me. Love Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding so this one is a hit for me.
Squats: Bukem – Autoerotique & 4B [Amazon / iTunes ]
IMO this is a horrible horrible song. Terrible. Like what the heck? If you disagree/agree please leave a comment because I just don’t like it and want to know what others think. The squat track itself well two words – NO BREAK = LEG DEATH. That said the song itself is so bad it’s a two weeker for launch and never done again.
Chest: Uptown Funk – Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars [Amazon / iTunes ]
To me this feels dated now. My class members still love it in cycle, but I think that’s part of my issue, I’ve been playing it in cycle for almost a year so I’m over it. I love the combo of bench press, and push ups. Not fond of the A-Press, prefer Fly’s and weight wise people go too light so I’ll stick with the bar. Fun track, probably one I will keep on rotation.

Back: Beautiful World – Blasterjaxx & DBSTF ft Ryder [Amazon / iTunes ]
Fun song, fun track. I love the ones that have shorter sets and heavier weight. This is what BodyPump was all about years ago. The sets are short so go heavy!!! Plus you have a “break” with the plate squat press. Definitely one for the rotation. Loving the back tracks lately! The moves go great with the music. fitness magic/performance in full effect!
Triceps: Irresistible – Fall Out Boy [Amazon / iTunes ]
Can I just say that I for one love this! Love the song, no more poppy techno dubstep time for something heavier and meaner. Plus no bar! I like it, did you? Plus DIPS! This could only be better if it had tricep push ups instead of the kick back row.
Biceps: GDFR – Flo Rida ft Sage The Gemini & Lookas [Amazon / iTunes ]
This one surprised me. Biceps have been pop/rock/dubstep and we haven’t had something hardcore for a while. This made a nice change. The addition of the bicep row with the plates is interesting as the ‘active recovery’. I like it as something different. I like having the options for using plates for the curls. Though this week I’ve been doing Eye of the Tiger (BodyPump 80) and that one is KILLER! More old school music please, the class members LOVE IT!
Lunges: Burnin – Calvin Harris & R3Hab [Amazon / iTunes ]
Techno dance music for legs again and I like it. The moves go with the music well and I like the track as a whole. The addition of singles AFTER the 7’s is good, then squats! Whoa Nelly! I also like that to step BACK into the lunges we have time, no fast transitions. This is great for the members as they get set in position before moving. I wish it had vocals though… hard to get people fired up for instrumentals, especially after the weird squat track!
Shoulders: I am machine – Three Days Grace [Amazon / iTunes ]
YES! Rock for a change, and I love it! Bar and plates. I like it cos it’s hard, you should too! Upright rows, overhead press, push press, lat raise, rotator raises. Nothing fancy, two sets, BOOM done! Shoulder death!
Core: Sugar – Maroon 5 [Amazon / iTunes ]
Yeah sing it Adam! I like this ab track, some great all round ab exercises. This is probably one of my favorites since BodyPump 90. Again it feels a little dated but hey it’s Adam I don’t care he can sing it to me anyday. I’ve missed the rotating hover too…
Cooldown: Brother – NEEDTOBREATHE ft Gavin DeGraw [Amazon / iTunes ]
Song is slow for me but I like it.
So that’s the playlist and breakdown. Have you done the new release yet? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
