So a couple of weeks ago I popped into Lassens and picked up some sample packs of vegan protein powders. I typically use Trader Joes soy protein powder but am looking at other alternatives to Soy for no reason other than to switch things up. I'm ready for a change ;) I like to keep it fresh! Anyway today I thought I'd review one of the protein powders, Chocolate Rice Protein powder by Nutribiotic. To make things even in ALL the reviews I picked chocolate and made the shake the same way: almond …
Disneyland Kennel Club Review
Recently, we arranged to take our Australian relatives to Disneyland. Michael was over for his honeymoon with his wife Jenna. However, we had a Disneyland dilemma. We'd only had our newly adopted dog, Pixel, a few weeks. As such we couldn't leave him at home for 8+ hours with no potty breaks, no walks, and no food. Plus, I did not like the idea of leaving him in his crate for that long. So we decided to try out the Disneyland Kennel Club. If, things turned out to be a nightmare. We …
Recipe: Dog Pumpkin & Peanut cookies!
So we have a new dog in our lives and I'm doing my damnedest to make sure he's as healthy as can be which means making my own dog cookies. I do this because frankly I'm sick of the dog good recalls and all the dogs getting sick from these ingredients and cookies from China. The ONLY way to ensure your dog isn't a victim of this is to make your own!!! So I do :) I don't have time either, I make time! Really it only takes 20 mins prep (less if you're not using a bone cutter and don't care about …
Q&A: how soon to see cxworx results?
Time for a Q&A session today! Hi! I started doing Cxworx last year when it was first offered at the gym I went to. I only went to a few classes before I started a new job, and the classes no longer fit into my schedule... I've found a new gym with classes that DO fit with my new schedule, and I've started going again. I LOVE the class!!It's my absolute favourite! My question is how long will it take before I see any noticeable difference? And... how much cardio should I incorporate into …
Race recap – Gator Run 2013
Before the New Year Bob and I wanted to run 12 races this year, one a month. Unfortunately we both got sick with Flu late December, then picked up a horrible virus that lasted 3 months so we ran our first race in January (after skipping New Years day race we'd already signed up for!) and that was basically it! We were just too sick :( The last couple of weeks I'd been running SHORT intervals with Pixel and whilst challenging I definitely saw that I was getting better. Saturday we went …
Review – CORE Foods
Before I went to England in January/February I signed up to take part in a review for CORE foods. Just before we were due to leave they contacted me telling me the food was due to arrive, as I knew I'd be out of the country I asked them to delay till I got back and they agreed :) When I got home mid February my sample pack arrived later that week. I want to thank CORE foods for their understanding. I really wanted to do this review and they accomodated my last minute travel plans. So on with the …
BodyCombat 55 playlist
Time to kick ass in bodycombat tonight and I'll be doing release #55 for the first time tonight! All this week I've mentioned the new releases and I've posted playlists for BodyPump 85 and Cxworx 10 already but BodyCombat 55 was the one that really challenged me physically! If you haven't done it yet, man you in for a WORKOUT! I teach Thursday night 6:10pm at Golds Thousand Oaks so come on down for a sweat fest ;) Anyway here is the playlist for bodycombat 55! 1a. Back in Time …
CXworx 10 playlist
It's the quarterly releases and we kicked it off Saturday morning with BodyPump and Cxworx back to back for double the fun :) I cannot believe we are at release TEN for CXworx! When I did my assessment I learned on three and though it was a new program it was definitely the one where I felt I learned the most. Every release for cxworx challenges me in new ways. I cannot wait to see where they go with the future of this core program. Even more exciting was seeing my trainer Josef on the quarterly …
Les Mills: BodyPump Release #85
It's time again for a new release and this morning at Golds we launched release 85 of BodyPump which I thought I would share with you today. Release 85 means that I've been teaching forĀ 8 releases now. Time flies! I already said that release 84 wasn't my favorite. Whilst there were some good tracks the bicep track for me fell so flat that it just impacted the release as a whole. That's one I'll never teach in it's entirety again :( But I've pulled a few tracks out that I like and honestly I do …
