Buying yoga pants from Amazon, a review

December 1, 2019 //  by Di Hickman//  16 Comments

When did you last buy yoga pants? Have you noticed that the cost of them seems to be rising? While I love supporting organic and fair trade, sometimes the budget doesn’t have wiggle room in it for a $100 pair of yoga pants. Especially around the holidays. Today I want to share how I got some affordable yoga pants from Amazon, that were surprisingly good.

Before we go any further, let me preface with a disclaimer that this post contains affiliate links. Which means purchases made via those links earn me a small commission, at no extra cost to you.

With yoga clothing seemingly getting more an more expensive, I try out yoga pants from Amazon. Affordable and surprisingly good qualiity!

Until recently, the last time I bought clothes was 2018. I’ve been fully on the minimalist journey and that’s meant giving my wardrobe the Marie Kondo treatment. Over two years ago, I took ALL my clothes out of the closet and culled, collated, and stored. More importantly perhaps, I figured out what I needed to make what I had worth keeping. While I had quite a few pairs of yoga pants, there were lots that needed replacing due losing elasticity. So it was time to buy new ones.

Not wanting to go out and drive to store (our closest Lululemon is 20+ miles away) and if I’m ordering online, well I can order on other sites too! As Amazon Prime is our go-to for lots of things. Maybe I could find affordable yoga pants from Amazon? I figured I’d try one pair and at a comparable price to C9 clothing at Target I figured I had nothing to lose. Plus Amazon Prime means I can return them if I’m not 100% happy!

Too much choice!

Now, I don’t know if you’ve ever searched “Yoga Pants” on Amazon, but a TON of results comes up. I needed to narrow things down. What did I want from these pants that my other pants didn’t have? Pockets! I’m in yoga pants 90% of the week and I really miss pockets. So “yoga pants with pockets” was still a lot but showed much less results. I sorted by high reviews, pick one and order! With Prime, my yoga pants from Amazon were here in two days!

What else was I looking for from a new pair of yoga pants? Well, some color. I have a few outlandish pairs of pants, but most are black and grey. Time for some fall colors. I have a maroon sweater I love, from my Oregon trip in 2018. So I figured let’s get out the box and go with red! I chose these yoga pants from Amazon, by a company called Heathyoga.

Straight off, can we just take a moment to say how awesome Prime Shipping is? Seriously in love with Amazon Prime [Did you know you can get free TV/Movies with Prime? I binge watched “Absentia” when I was off sick recently. If you’re interested you can get an Amazon Prime trial HERE]. Anyway the pants arrived in two days, a few days later I took them for a test drive. I wore them for a double header, yoga stretch, then yoga flow. They were comfy and stretchy in the right places. Absolutely LOVED having the pockets! So good for storing my phone during dog walks. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever buy another pair of yoga pants without pockets. Total game changer.

Naturally the big question women will want to know is “do they pass the downward dog test?”. What’s that? Well basically, do they go see through when stretched over your butt? The answer: No! Whew, crisis averted!

All in all, I was pretty impressed with the maroon yoga pants with pockets. So much so that I bought another pair, from a different vendor. These were by “move with you”. While I loved the feel of material of these much more, the waist was just too freaking high for me. Both pairs of yoga pants were high waisted [seems to be a fad lately], but this pair was irritatingly high. I love them otherwise. If you’re in the market for HIGH waisted yoga pants for under $20 both of these are pretty good!

In conclusion, buying yoga pants from Amazon is a great idea! Not only are they affordable, but they are good quality too. Plus with Prime you can have them shipped to your door in two days. What more could you want? I highly recommend them.

I basically live in yoga pants. I love Lululemon but the price is a bit high. I’ve ordered a pair from amazon for $24 and loved them! I’ll have to try these next.

Yep ditto! I have one pair of Lulu, which are great. But honestly not worth the price compared to Target (champion) or these from Amazon.

Finding the perfect yoga pants has been hard for me. I love the ones I used to find at Costco and no longer are there- I’ll check these ones out!

oooh I’ve never bought them at Costco. Were they good? I know they change their stock with the season so maybe look again in the new year? AKA fitness season 😀

My go-to color is def purple, so I am all over those pants. Have wondered about the yoga pants with those little side pockets for your phone – they look a lot better/more workable than I had feared.

I was just telling my husband the other day that I need a few more pairs of yoga pants. Sadly I don’t have a yoga class that I can make it to often anymore, but I try to do some at home and they are just so comfy that I often wear them to bed or on road trips. I would LOVE ones with pockets, especially for the road trips so I can bring my phone in places with me (or cash for those trip snacks!) without having to carry it. I already have amazon prime so these are going on my list. The maroon color is awesome!

Yep pockets are must. Now when I wear my other yoga pants without pockets I miss them. I just so happen to have yoga videos online! http://www.patreon.com/dihickman
