If you don’t have a regular meditation practice, then today is a good time to start as it’s World meditation day. This is a time to remember that in a World that seems to have distractions at every turn, going inwards is more important than ever. While there may be barriers to sitting for an hour for meditation most of us can carve out 5-10 minutes of our day. Which is why I’m fond of shorter sessions, like this 7 minute guided meditation.

Experienced meditator’s may find it easy to sit in silence but for those of us with ADHD or easily distractible personalities it can be quite a challenge. Which is why I prefer guided meditations. No matter what is happening around you, just sit, put your earbuds in and meditate!

7 Minute Guided Meditation
In my World Meditation Day 2020 post I shared how meditation is a part of a rounded yoga practice, and a free 5-minute meditation audio download. This year we’re expanding the practice to 7-minutes focusing on the quality of our breath.

You can download the MP3 Audio file here. If you’re looking for help finding a comfortable seated position for meditation, then check out my post on sukhasana. And also my tips on sitting more comfortably cross-legged. Are you still struggling to meditate? Then, perhaps try a more focused, mindful exercises like coloring! It’s not just for kids, many adults are rediscovering the benefits of coloring as a form of meditation. I have lots of coloring page printables to get you started. Firstly, I have printable coloring pages and bookmarks in my Etsy store. Secondly, is my coloring paperback book available on Amazon. Finally, I give away a free page every month for my “Good Karma Crew” email subscribers.

I honestly really struggle with meditation and I am not sure if it is a me thing, an autistic thing or just because I haven’t found the right way for me yet.
Di Hickman
for me guided helps. With ADHD I can’t “just sit”. Especially when my brain is running on high. I need something to focus on.

Guided meditation can be such a calming way to help you relax and unwind, I think it is always worth trying different ones as well if the first one you try doesn’t work for you.
Di Hickman
yes! It’s like saying you don’t like TV cos you didn’t like one show! Try another 🙂

I find meditation really helpful when trying to relax. I haven’t really done it guided before. That would be different.

Guided really helps with the monkey mind when it’s ramped up to level 11 lol!
