Earlier this month I posted three time saving fitness tips to promote my new free ebook “25 Time Saving Fitness Tips“. Really, finding time for fitness is easy because it involves managing the only thing you really have full control over – YOURSELF. You can’t control time, or others you can only control you. Are you using your time effectively or are you spending 3 hours a night watching TV? You don’t find time, you make time. 24 hours remember. I don’t think anyone on their deathbed ever thought “oh man I wish I’d watched more TV”. I’m betting it’s I wish I’d had more experiences, done more, looked after my health, watched my diet and exercised. Take care of your body it’s the only one you’ll get.

3 More Time Saving Fitness Tips
Find Fitness Friends
Do you go for a regular coffee date with friends? Get out the coffee shop and hit the park for a walk/run instead. You can still catch up on the latest gossip but you all get your workout checked off your to-do list. Same with lunch dates, instead hit a lunchtime group fitness class, or run. If you have a four legged friend then take them a little further on your walks. Figure out the times you are sitting and instead make it active, if those friends aren’t down for that then maybe you need to re-evaluate the amount of time you spend with those people. Surround yourself with people who lift you up, encourage and support you.
Figure out your time sinks
One of the most useful things I can suggest for finding out where your time goes is to document your day. Most of us have smart phones, those have calendars. Just jot down what you are doing every 30 minutes. I work in 30 minute to 1 hour blocks because that’s just what works for me. Plus it’s how my planner and google calendar are organized. I soon discovered I was wasting time in the morning on social media before walking Pixel. So now we get up, eat breakfast and head straight out with Pixel for a walk. Another time sink for me is the time between clients. I’m solving this by bringing my iPad with me, and then doing some work in my car. I can write out a blog post, do some social media posts, or just research and plan.
Ditch TV
One thing I notice about people who live the fit life is that they watch very little TV. For example we watch about three shows a week, less now that game of thrones has finished. We might watch a movie at the weekend but in all we watch very little TV. So get real with yourself, how many hours are you watching a week? Did you know the average American watches FIVE HOURS A DAY? Yet they cannot find time to workout? Get real, call yourself on that BS! It’s robbing you of your health. Do you really need to watch the Housewives of Orange County. Figure out the shows you watch and ask yourself: what value does it add to your life?
