If you know me you’ll know I’m not a girly girl. Honestly I’m more TomBoy really, one of the guys, but as the years have gone by I’ve started to embrace girly things more, including color, patterns, and makeup. I went vegan in 2013 and since then I’ve been slowly transitioning all my makeup and skincare to cruelty free, animal free, and eco-friendly products. To make myself try new things I decided to sign up for a subscription service and got my first Vegan Cuts Beauty Box back in May of 2015… and never looked back.
Honestly I look forward to getting this box every month and it’s pushed me to use products I would never normally use. Example: Who knew eyebrow shadow/pencil could make such a difference? As I’ve missed a few months unboxing the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box I decided to jump back in, both feet and do a video unboxing. You can view it below, and don’t forget to check out my YouTube channel!

All in all the products in this month’s beauty box totaled over $67! If you’re interested in subscribing there are a few different subscription deals from month to month, 6 month or 12 months, and cost as low as $18.50 a month. I hadn’t been to their website in a while and didn’t know they were offering upfront payments for the whole year and I just switched to yearly (the best deal at $18.50 a month), which is basically like getting 2 boxes free a year! Vegan Cuts does a beauty box, a Snack Box and a new quarterly MakeUp box! Plus free shipping for the U.S!
Vegan Cuts Beauty Box – June Unboxing!
In the June Vegan Cuts Beauty Box there were SIX products with a value of over $67! So you really get a lot for your money when you subscribe. There are multiple subscription options including month to month, 6 month, or 12 month (you save more on the 12 month subscription). Plus having a box of goodies arrive at your door each month is just so much fun, it’s like Christmas every month. All the products are vegan, 100% cruelty free, mostly organic and natural and have no parabens. Let’s dive in for the first of the products this month…
There are a mixture of full and sample size products in each box and this months box features a full size liquid lipgloss by OFRA COSMETICS. The color included in the box is “laguna beach” and as I was at Zuma Beach recently doing triathlon training I got instant flashbacks of high surf and pebbly shores, The OFRA lipgloss is great, nice rich color, and lots of staying power. This has a $19.50 value, which is already pretty much covered the cost of the whole box!!!
The second product this month was blotting paper booklet by MAI COUTURE. These sheets wipe away unwanted dirt and oil buildup and are infused with vitamins C and E. As it’s been super hot here lately with daytime temperatures of 90-108° I definitely needed these! I always say that a lot of the sample size products I get in these boxes end up in my gym bag but this is one full size product that got thrown in my gym bag straight away! I’m on the go ALL DAY LONG so these are perfect for a touch up while keeping my face fresh and dirt free. These blotting papers have a $12 value.
A sample size of the rapid detox charcoal exfoliant by ClariSEA was the third product in this month’s beauty box. This exfoliant has activated bamboo charcoal which rapidly absorbs and whisks away impurities, to leave your skin clean and refreshed. I like that you can use this with water, or in your daily cleanser. It’s also supposed to help eliminate blackheads. What I liked about this exfoliant was that it was gentle! I could use this everyday for sure, and with just four ingredients it’s not going to aggravate my skin. This sample has a $3 value.
I’ve been using a Konjac sponge for a while and mine was looking a little sorry for itself, they do eventually wear out, so I was happy to see one in the June Beauty Box. This konjac facial sponge is by PureSOL. If you’ve never used one you are missing out! Not only do they give you brighter looking skin, they prevent blackheads, and breakouts and improve skin texture. The Bamboo Charcoal is 100% natural, eco-friendly and free of parabens, sulphates & chemicals. It is biodegrade, cruelty free and vegan. Seriously I use one of these in the shower too! Soft enough to use daily, without anything gunking up the sink. This has a $10 value.
In a couple of the previous beauty boxes I’ve got perfumes and was happy to find another in the June box. This is a special edition beeswax-free solid perfume, which means you can take this on vacation and it won’t add to your ‘liquid restrictions’ on the plane! Yay! This fragrance combines light florals, white tea and bergamot and is really pleasant. Again another item that immediately got thrown into my gym/work bag. This has an $18 value.
The sixth and final product this month is a mineral SPF 30 sunscreen by DEVITA. Again, it’s been hot as hell here so any SPF is very helpful here. This one from Devita was pretty thick! I’d call it more of a sunblock than a sunscreen. I liked that it didn’t leave a slick oily mess everywhere, but it didn’t absorb as well as I’d like, instead leaving a white streak on my face where it just didn’t soak in. Great for vacationing at the beach, but for everyday use under make-up it seems too thick. However for sports where you want something to LAST this is going to be perfect!
The June Vegan Cuts Beauty Box was a HUGE hit with me, and honestly I’ve loved 95% of the products I’ve got through Vegan Cuts, the other 5% I only liked, lol.

I had never thought about using solid perfume when I go on vacations! That is so smart to not have another thing added to your liquids!

I love beauty products that are free of animal byproducts. It takes a bit of research to find good ones, but I’m with you, I completely replaced all my cosmetic stush with products I can feel good about. Love your post!
